What paint protection film does
PPF creates a sacrificial clear layer over the paint. San Diego drivers use it because freeway debris, coastal dust, canyon roads, and tight parking areas can wear down paint faster than expected.
The film is most valuable on high-impact panels: bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors, rocker panels, lower doors, rear quarter impact zones, door cups, and trunk ledges.
Best PPF coverage for San Diego cars
Full-front PPF
Full-front protection is the default recommendation for most owners. It protects the bumper, full hood, full front fenders, mirrors, and headlights where road debris hits first.
Track-pack PPF
Track-pack coverage adds rocker panels, lower doors, rear splash zones, A-pillars, and other surfaces that see abuse from performance driving or wider tires.
Full-body PPF
Full-body film is for vehicles where the paint is part of the investment: new luxury cars, special-order colors, matte paint, exotic cars, and owners who want maximum preservation.
What to ask before booking
- Is the car new, used, corrected, wrapped, or previously repainted?
- Do you mostly commute, park outside, drive canyon roads, or track the vehicle?
- Do you want gloss preservation, stealth/satin conversion, or only high-impact protection?
- Do you need individual panels protected after a repair or respray?
